Sketchbooks tend to hark back to art classes at school, but they can serve as so so much more for us as artists.

They’re a safe space to explore anything and everything without fear of recrimination or judgement.  They’re an opportunity to explore an idea without feeling the pressure of perfection and presentation.  It is easy to forget the benefits of idea development and try to work out the problems on the final artwork, so we thought we would delve into sketchbooks a little over the next few months to explore the benefits of using one.
